I loved this wedding cake table that I did for Shantel and Parker’s wedding last month. I’m always so excited to make multiple cakes for a reception because who doesn’t want more cake?! Also I love when brides ask for sugar succulents. I’m kind of in love with them right now. And Shantel wanted THREE of them!
Can I just start off by saying that I love lilacs, like a ridiculous amount. I’m obsessed with them. I especially love my next door neighbors lilac bush. They are the prettiest shade of plum purple. So when they finally started to bloom in early May I ran over, cut some (with permission), and stuck them on this cake!
I love the color combination of the mint and the purple too. Everyone is doing the coral and mint combo right now so I thought it would be fun and different to try this combination. Let’s start a new trend! What do you think? I LOVE it!
I had to pair this cake with some purple French Macarons too. Just because.
I loved being part of this pretty shoot we did back in January. There were so many talented people involved. You can see the whole thing featured here on One Fab Day!
And here are some lovely photos.

Lisa and Greg were a joy to work with. Lisa knew exactly what she was looking for for her wedding cake and I loved the idea. I had made a two tier version of this cake back in December but I think I love the three tier version the best. Im a sucker for tall cakes and I also love that each tier of this cake was a different flavor.
Im in love with the giant sugar flower and the cascading petals all the way down the side of this cake. There is something that is so elegant about it.
The flowers and greenery were assembled on top and around the cake after I delivered it to the reception. I could not believe how cute the two little love birds looked on top of the cake. I died. This is one for the books for sure.
Thank you Lisa and Greg for letting me make you wedding cake!
Sydney is my cousin and I could not even begin to tell you how awesome she is. She is beautiful and so talented. She sings and plays the piano in a band called The National Parks. They are so good. Anyway, when Sydney got engaged and asked me to make her wedding cake I was thrilled.
Syd and Mike wanted different cakes, which was so fun for me to do. Syd wanted a simple white cake with very few succulents on it and buttercream that just barely had a texture to it. Also it had to be chocolate cake with Oreo filling because I’ve never met anyone who loves Oreos like Sydney does. Cookies and Cream is her favorite. Mike wanted a chocolate and vanilla Naked Cake with caramel dripping down the sides. So instead of making a compromise on which cake they should do I told them we could do both!
The succulents on Sydney’s cake were made out of sugar. Which everyone knows I love to do. I loved these succulents because of the color variation in the center. The inside is a pale yellow that turns into green then ends with the purple tips. I loved how these little guys turned out.
I think both cakes turned out perfectly. I am so glad that I got to be a part of Sydney and Michael’s big day. And Im so excited to have Mike join our family! Congratulations you two!
